Location: WaKeeney KOA near Hays, Kansas: This was a great place to stop. There was no need to unhook the car as we pulled into the long flat site. The campground is surrounded by wheat fields that were beautiful in the morning sunlight. It was the cheapest KOA we stayed in ($36 per night for our group) and had a great deal of $2.50 for an all you can eat pancake breakfast.

Today's car ride was too long for the kids as they anticipated being in Kansas City, MO with our friends the Dinsmores. But Kansas is a big state of wheat, wheat and more wheat. I kept getting so sleepy that as we passed the little town of Durrance, KS we pulled over to find a fun playground for the kids to play on while I took a power nap.
***Faster, J, Faster!
FINALLY we arrived at about 4 p.m. In no time all 13 children were talking, playing and swimming.
***And eating, of course....
