***Picnicking at the Nature Center overlooking the inlet
The hardy headed out one morning to tackle the bike trails going the length of the island from the campground past the lighthouse and on to the nature center. The first trail zips up and down rolling hills through tight dirt and root filled paths lined with saw palmettos leaving even the fittest a bit winded. Around the middle of the island the paths become more level and are wider.
E&L were separated from the others for a bit and look what slithered across their path!

Another fun place that everyone enjoyed was biking by the sea. Our campsite was close to the walkway to the beach so often times the kids would take their bikes instead of walking.
Also at low tide the ride from the lighthouse to the campground is beautiful.
Part of the coast is covered with this driftwood forest.
